Govt. Degree College-Co-Ed, Medak

The college was started in the year 1981. Department of Commerce was established in the same year with Telugu as Medium of instruction. Originally the college was established in basic teacher training center where the accommodation was insufficient. Later the college was shifted to the new building along with the department in the year 1986.

B.Com(Computer Lab) was established with 20 systems in the year 2008-09 for conducting Accounting group practical’s as prescribed by the Affiliating University. Commerce Lab for commerce group practical’s was established in the year 2008-09. B.Com (Computers) Course was introduced in the year 2011-12 academic year with English as a medium of instruction under the Self-Finance Scheme.

From the academic year 2016-17 the department is offering B. Com(Gen) & B.Com (CS) courses under CBCS, Semester system pattern as per the directions of TSCHE and Osmania University.  From the academic year 2018-19 the department replaced the B.Com (CS) with B.Com(CA) and also started the B.Com(General) in English Medium.  In the academic year 2019-20 only B.Com(CA) Course in Telugu and English Medium offered

Presently B.Com(Computer Lab) has 30 Computers with latest configuration, Wi-Fi, LED Projector, LAN and 3KV inverter facility. 2 class rooms are equipped with LCD Projector and Digital Board with LED Projector. Commerce Lab has reputed journals in the Department Library. Banking, Insurance, taxation & GST related forms and formats for practical knowledge to the students.
