Library Profile
Welcome to GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN SANGAREDDY college library. Our college library was established with the establishment of the college in 1981.Library is having its own building near to the science block. Reading hall has the capacity of 40 students. Our college is Multi-faculty College. We serve for degree students from various groups i.e. B.A, B.Com, B.Sc. students. We provide information to library users and cater to their needs to the maximum level. OPAC, E-books, E-Journals, Institutional repository facility are provided to the users of the library. Barcode scanner used for issue and return of library resources. Use of library resource sessions is organized frequently for first year students by conducting Orientation programmes.
Library is having traditional print resources such as books, magazine, newspapers and modern resources such as CD/DVD, online resources, database etc. Digital Library section is having 14 computer terminals and has a broadband connectivity for internet purpose.
Our college is using the SOUL Software Library management system, designed and developed by INFLIBNET. We are using ICT based technology for improving library facility by using SOUL 3.0 software for bibliographic entries of the library. Library is a partially automated issue and return of library resources is with the help of barcode and barcode scanner. OPAC facility is also available to readers.

- To support the curriculum by providing access to relevant resources for students and staff.
- To foster the enjoyment of reading as a recreational activity for all members.
Library Facilities:
Borrowing:
Library users can check out the printed materials for home. Rare and reference books and journals are not for issue. One student can get 2 books issued for a period of 10 days and then they may be renewed if there is no reservation on the items indicated.
E-Zone: The Library is a Wi-Fi enabled place, where the Staff & Students can access subscribed and freely available online resources for their academic and research activities a part of Digital Library CCE has provided 14 computers.
E-Journals:INFLIBNET (N-List) which provides access to e-books, e-journals, articles and digital resources.
Career Guidance Services:Procurement of more competitive exam books, subscription to magazines for competitive exams. More reference books on PG Entrance & Group I & Group II (TSPSC) books. Display of notices from TSPSC, SSC, UPSC etc.
Reprographic Services:
The Library has a printer and photocopier, Students can use this facility.
Reference Services:Information relating to access and use of the library’s collection may be obtained at the reference desk. Library provides support to users in various ways like downloading literature from online databases.
Library Orientation Programmes:
Library conducts a library orientation program for new members/students in the beginning of the academic year.
Membership:
Our college Students, Faculty and staff are allowed to take a membership from the library. Members are provided with the bar-coded Library identity card through which they can access and borrow library materials.

Working Hours:
Monday to Saturday: 10.00 am to 4.30 pm
Library will remain closed on all Sundays and selected Government holidays.
