Brief History of the Department:

  The Department of Botany was established in this college in the year 16-08-1965. The founder head of department Mr. G.Glory, Sri.K.LokenderRao,Retiredjoint director,Highereducation, Sri.K..Sant Prasadreddy,Retiredjiont director,Higher Education.PreUniversitycourseapart alongwith U,G.course up to 1996.The department is receiving financial assistance from UGC, State Government special fee collected fromstudents.M.Sc.Botany P.G.course was started in the department August,2013.At present the level of study offered by the department is both U.GandP.G.

• To become a role model in the field of Teaching and Technology development and promotion of incubation center for researchers
  

Mission:

• To incubate strong theoretical and practical knowledge to students in the field of Botany 
  
• To excel in the field of taxanomy, tissue culture and Nursery gardening enables to be self employed after completion of course.
