Brief History of the Department:

 The Department of English started on 16-8-1965 along with the establishment of the college.

Modern Language English as an Optional subject was introduced in the year 1966-67 under the

B.A. course. History, Political Science & Modern Language (English)

P.G. Course in English was introduced in the year 2013.

Vision:

 The mainstay of the vision of the Department of English is to offer students adequate communication skills to prepare them for their professional needs in the globalized scenario prevalent today.The English Department strengthens the liberal education of students by developing a deepened understanding of language and literacy, the value of critical reading and effective writing, and the richness of literature, past and present.

 To facilitate the acquisition of communication skills with a humanistic approach.
