HISTORY OF DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS:

The Department of Physics of this college was started in the academic year 1965-66 for the pre-university course with groups MPC and BPC and later modified for intermediate education for MPC and BPC groups.  Under graduate course B.Sc. (MPC) was started in the year 1995-96 with Telugu and English media.  From the Academic Year 1998-99 another undergraduate course was introduced with B.Sc. (MPCs) combination.  Presently the Department is offering two under graduate course sections namely B.Sc. (MPC) and (MPCs) in English medium. Now the Department is functioning with two Asst. Professors ( three sanctioned posts) under the incharge-ship of Smt. G. Savitri.

The department provides excellent learning in Physics through its highly qualified and dedicated faculty members supported by well-equipped laboratories and sufficient books in the library catering to the need of the students. The faculty members are updating themselves to modern methods of teaching by attending the various refresher courses, seminars, workshops and pursuing the latest changes in the subject by going through scientific journals and internet.  Active research work is going in the department by publishing the papers.
