ICT Facilities

Government Degree College Paloncha is pleased to adopt various innovative teaching approaches, methods, and tools. The college is augmented with ICT facilities like e-class rooms and Virtual classrooms. The college has 4 digital classrooms and 1 Virtual classroom for effective and qualitative delivery of the academic content. The faculty of the college are trained in the usage of ICT tools and it became compulsory in COVID pandemic situations.

Every faculty member conducts lectures using PowerPoint presentations, animations, and documentaries. All the teachers created YouTube channels and preserved their respective departmental video lessons in that channel for the welfare of students. The students of the college are also trained for using the ICT tools, thereby facilitating them to present their students' seminars – webinars, online classes through ICT mode. The college also organized many webinars in online mode.

Four Wi-Fi units/Routers are arranged in the college building to provide 50 Mbps speed of internet enabling uninterrupted ICT teaching and learning process. The Wi-Fi facility can be used by both staff and students for academic purposes. Students are motivated to prepare various teaching materials like Charts, Posters. Portraits and exhibit them in the classroom. They are made to solve previous question papers of the university examinations by using open online educational resources. The knowledge and information gathered from these facilities help to cope up with current trends and new developments. Awareness programs on MOOCS and SWAYAM were conducted to staff and students and encouraged them to register in online courses to expand their learning horizons. The institution is also using LMS to promote E-learning and online courses in the college.

The institution is providing access to educational television channels like MANA TV, T-SAT, and NIPUNA to expand the learning experience. There is a prescribed schedule pertaining to the details of the lectures given by the CCE to watch these channels department-wise. Through these channels, subject experts interacted with the students and ratified their doubts.

The Digital Library and Reading Room of the College Library are fully filled with access to a great collection of E-books, E-journals, reference books in addition to academic books, periodicals, subject journals, newspapers, magazines of different academic fields in print. The college provides access to N LIST to one and all. This is where the faculty, especially teachers are facilitated with the provision of searching for the content they are in need of.

Subject Seminars and conduction of online classes by the apps like ZOOM, WebEx, Ex-recorder, Open Board Software-OBS, GOOGLE MEET play an encouraging role in the process of Teaching-Learning content of which can be emanated by way of PowerPoint Presentations which gives access to audio-visual graphical effects to make the concepts simpler in an innovative way. During the lockdown period, online classes and evaluations were conducted using Google Classrooms.
