About The Department
The department of commerce was established in the year 1967 with the inception of B.Com (General) course in English as medium of instruction under affiliation to Osmania University, Hyderabad.
Mr. Krishna Murthy, M.Com., Ph.D., was the first Head of the Department of Commerce. 10+2 system was introduced in the year 1967 resulting in closure of PUC Classes. So, the department had only 3 programs of B.Com in E/m. up to 1971.
In the year 1971 Telugu as Medium of instructions was introduced in the department with a permitted strength of 60 Students. At present there are two streams in Commerce Department those are B.Com (general), and B.Com (Computer Application) comprising of 245 students.
