ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

                           The Govt. Degree College, Patancheru was established in the year 2008.  In Academic Year 2008-09 B.A, B.Com, and B.Sc Degree courses were started. The Dept. Of Commerce was also started in the year2008-09 with T/M as medium of instruction.

         In the year 2008-09 Department of Commerce was started with 01 sanctioned post. In 2018-19 year Government sanctioned additional 3 posts and 2 posts sanctioned in 2020. At present the Dept. of Commerce is in 3^rd floor of the Building. At present the Dept. is having B.Com General, B.Com Computers and B.Com Computer Applications courses. The regular faculty members are  4,  and 4 class rooms, one computer lab and one commerce lab under the control of Department of Commerce.  The Department is encouraging the students towards higher education like, M.Com, MBA and Professional educates need career development.

            In the present scenario of globalized economy, the demand for financial services in form and size increasing, Commerce has become vital educational as it opens up many educational Opportunities such as ICWA, CA, MBA and M.Com. It is also important because it could lead to entry level jobs in various companies as it is a purely financial and vocational degree. The present economy has become computerized in all aspects realizing the need of the hour the college offers Bachelor of Commerce prograamme with specialization in computerized accounting.

           The course structure aims at equipping students with improved ways of conducting organizational analysis, Financial accounting analysis and tax calculations. Students are exposed to General Business principles and required Accounting, economic and quantitative skills.
