The department of English has been functioning since the inception of the college in the year 1981. This department was given affiliation by the Osmania University in the same academic year along with the BA, B. Com (Gen) Courses. Presently the department is affiliated with the Palamuru University.

There was only one post at the inception of the Department, but in later years the no. of posts enhanced to four, as the new courses added in college with new combinations the no. of post enhanced recently up to eight.

The department has been sharing the responsibility along with the other departments in providing the quality education to the economically and socially backward girl students who join in this college and also striving hard to transform them into a completely developed educated women who can face the present age challenges.

The department has introduced a certificate course on “Communication Skills in English”. The department has also been conducting specialised modules for imparting functional skills in communication in English. The Department has taken special care of spelling problems in English for first generation learners of the student community by displaying difficult words on notice board. The department has been screening videos for better exposure to English language.
