      The Department of Commerce has total student strength of 69. The department offers different papers of practical relevance as per the syllabus prescribed by Osmania University. Staff and students of the department actively engage in college developmental activities by organising programmes like Consumer Awareness Programme ( through College Consumer Forum), Entrepreneurial Development Programmes (through Entrepreneurial Development Cell) and Social Awareness Programmes (through Eco-Clubs- making clay Ganesh for Ganesh Chaturthi to avoid water contamination caused during immersion).

      The department of commerce also conducts a few programmes like Business Quiz, Business Word Antakshari etc. to all the students of the college to enhance their general awareness. Besides this, the department in collaboration with the Department of English and TSKS organises Career Guidance classes for the final year students wherein Resume Writing and Interview skills imparted. During the recent COVID-19 pandemic the department has conducted a National Online Talent Test in Company Law, a National Online Quiz on Aptitude and Reasoning (in association with TSKC) and an International Quiz in Collaboration with Department of English.

      The Department takes utmost care in improving the understanding levels of its students by adapting bilingual teaching mode to suit the requirements of rural students who mostly are from Telugu Medium background. To be on par with the present education system, the department takes pride in implementing ICT based teaching wherever possible to improve their retention ability.

      EDP CELL

      Diya Making Competition

      On the occassion of Diwali Dept of Commerce Incharge and EDP Coordinator Smt R. Vaishnavi has conducted Clay Ditya Making Competitions to students of all disciplines. The programme was intended to bring out the hidden talents of students. The competitin was conducted for 2 days (i.e. 21st and 22nd October, 2022). 20 teams (40 students- both boys and girls) took part in the competition. Best first three teams were rewarded with prizes. To encourage more and more participation, all the participants were given participation prizes. All the students and staff participated in the programme enthusiastically. 

      Clay Ganesh Exhibition

      The Principal, Dr K. Prabhu has constituted the Entrepreneurial Development Cell as per the proceedings of the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education. The Coordinator of the EDP Cell Smt R. Vaishnavi, along with EDP cell members Smt Roopna Ravindran and Sri Shaik Mahaboob and EDP cell student representatives Mr. Mahender Yadav and Mr. Nathenale Louis has organised an Entrepreneurial Development Programme on 10th September, 2021. Commerce students of the college made clay Ganesh idols and exhibited the same. The programme was designed to give an idea to students about the various ways available to build their career with their skills. The programme was attended by staff and students of all disciplines. Principal has graced the occasion as the Chair Person of EDP Cell.

      The Principal, Dr K. Prabhu has constituted the Entrepreneurial Development Cell as per theproceedings of the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education dated 18th February, 2021. TheCoordinator of the EDP Cell Smt R. Vaishnavi, along with EDP cell members Smt RoopnaRavindran and Sri Shaik Mahaboob and EDP cell student representatives Mr. MahenderYadav and Mr. Nathenale Louis has organised an Entrepreneurial Development Programme.Commerce student Mr. Sreekanth Mudavath, who has hands-on experience in making clayidols has taught the college students the intricacies of making clay Ganesh. The programmewas intended to teach the students about the various ways available to build their career withtheirskills.Theprogrammehasbeenattendedbystaffandstudentsofalldisciplines.Principalhas graced theoccasion as theChair Person of EDP Cell.

      The department also conducts Food festivals and organise food stalls to bring out the creative marketing and selling skills in students

      STUDENT SEMINARS

      The department has the practice of conducting student seminars at regular intervals. 

      FIELD TRIPS

      At regular intervals the department of commerce visits nearby industrial and production units to impart practical knowledge to their students.
