Government Degree College, Gambhiraopet was established in the year 2008 . It was done with great efforts of the villagers and The than Education Minister of the state, Government of Andhra Pradesh in the year 2008. At Present the college is offering 06 Undergraduate Courses and thus fulfilling the Academic needs of the Thandaas and Large number of Sheduled caste and Scheduled Tribe Students in North Telangana Region. It is located in the beautiful woods and surrounded by several Thandas With Pleasant Atmosphere. Further, this college is located 35kms away from a renowed temple Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy Vemulawada. This college also stands close by Upper Manair Dam, Narmala, The famous Tourist Destination which attracts many people from all over the state. The College has well furnished class rooms, well equipped TSKC , full fledged Botany lab, Zoology Lab, Physics and Chemistry laboratories, and large Play fields, Surrounded by Thick Greenery and Groves. The college has a National Service Scheme (NSS unit) which functions under Ministry of Youth Affairs. The main aim of this unit is to inculcate the habbit of Social service in the Society which makes and feel every student as a responsible citizen. Various activities like shramadanam, Clean and Green, eradication of illiteracy in the villages are conducted under the supervision of College NSS Programme Officer The College is planning for an excellent separate Library Building Block, One Gymnasium for Men, a well furnished Auditorium & Seminar Hall. National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit is likely to be established shortly which functions under the Ministry of Defence. Presently the college has the status of an identification a lead college in the Rajanna Sircilla District, Coordinating the academic activities of the other 02 Govt. Degree Colleges of the District.
