      VISION

      • To be a Centre of excellence in the field of biotechnology equipped to create graduates who endeavor for the welfare of mankind.
      • To nurture graduates with a potential to innovate, invent and disseminate knowledge for the benefit of society and environment.
      • To  engage in  interaction with research sponsoring agencies like DST, AICTE, UGC, CSIR, DBT, etc. for up gradation.

      MISSION

      • To impart quality education for life long professional growth and opportunity in a wide range of Careers.
      • To create awareness towards socio-ethical implications of potentials of biotechnology.
      • To regularly revision of the course curriculum to cater to the needs of academia and industry.
      • To Initiate multi-disciplinary programs through academia-industry interface with special emphasis on implementation of bioprocess design and scale-up.
      • To Emphasize  on imparting employability skills, research aptitude through  organization of conferences, symposia, workshops.
      • To enhance the learning abilities of the graduates in the key areas like Bioinformatics, Research & Development, Quality Assurance, Bioprocessing, Upstream and Downstream Processing, Gene Therapy.
      • To improve  Industry Interaction- an Institutional initiative with university–industry interaction to create industry exposure to students
      • To encourage the graduates to continue higher education in life sciences.

      History and  Present Status of the Department  

      • Biotechnology Department was established in the year 2008 with the CBCS system affiliated to Osmania University
      • Faculty of the department are actively involved in the revising the curriculum regularly
      • Department is upgraded with new equipment
      • Department is involved in active research
      • Students are encouraged to do project works
      • Students are given industry based internship programmes
      • Department regularly conduction Extension and Guest Lectures for updating the knowledge of the students
      • Department is organizing various hands on Training Programmes in advanced techniques to enhance the learning abilities of the students
      • Department is offering several Value added course ON Protein engineering and basics  of proteomics  for improving the employability skills of the students
