      Standard Hindi, or more precisely Modern Hindi, also known as Manak Hindi (Devanagari: मानकहिन्दी; meaning "Standard Hindi"), High Hindi, Nagari Hindi, and Literary Hindi, is a standardisedand sanskritisedregisterof the Hindi-Urdu languagebased on the Khariboli dialectof Delhiand Western Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the official languagesof the Republic of India.

      The combined population of Hindi-Urduspeakers is the fourth largest in the world.However, the number of native speakers of Standard Hindi is unclear. According to the 2001 Indian census, 258 million people in India reported their native languageto be "Hindi".

      Brief History of Department of Hindi

      Government Degree College, Gajwel was established in the year of 1997 to serve the needs of the local students. Department of Hindi established in the year  2021 as second language as a subject for graduate students. The founder head of the department is Dr. G. Nagendra Jagan. He has 10 years of teaching experience. Previously he worked at different colleges across the United Andhra Pradesh state.    He rendered his services as NCC officer, NSS coordinator and etc. He also involves in social welfare activities.
