       II Achievements of the Faculty

      Teaching Learning

      The department is preparing the curriculum plan for all round development of the students. It helps the students to achieve high goals by giving knowledge for their development. The department is preparing the curriculum plan with Co-curriculum and extracurricular activities

      The main objectives behind these methods are to enhance knowledge perspective and skills students. A part from the lecture method the other learning practices are also following the department as concern.

       

      The Department of Economics is unique in the teaching of Economics subject to the students of BA. The details of teaching practices are presented below.

      Learning process:-

       

      • Learning is the quality practice in education. The department of economics is adopting feasible methods for imparting of subject knowledge.

       

      • The department follows the schedule given in the academic calendar provided by the Osmania University.
      • Academic calendar is prepared by the academic committee, head of the department and IQAC headed by the principal as per the instructions/ model given by the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education (CCE) and Osmania University.
      • It is mandatory to prepare the comprehensive teaching plan and teaching diary by the faculty and it is reviewed by academic coordinator and principal every month.
      • The students performance is evaluated through students seminars, unit test, slip tests, assignments, study projects etc.,
      • Before annual examinations weightage of chapters is provided and guidelines are given to improve their performance and self confidence.
      • Question bank is available in the department.
      • IQAC also supports to our department for  effective implementation for total quality management of teaching learning process.  It contributes to improve the teaching learning process by organize more seminars, workshops etc. to spread awareness
      • Arranges for improving teachers performance by students feedback.
      •  Provides support and encouragement to the staff members for their quality sustenance and quality improvement.

      Charts, graphs for easy learning some models like charts are prepared by the students in the department. These models are displayed in the classrooms for easy learning which helps weak students considerably.

      This helps both fast and slow learners subject quiz is conducted to the students. This method of learning enhances subject knowledge and competitive spirit.

      1. Field Visits:-

       

      To gain practical knowledge and to learn the subject, the department of Economics has organized field visits to the following places.

       

       

      Field visits to District central library, Hyderabad, Nagarjunasagar,Monday market, Sangareddy.

      Class room Seminars

       

      The Department of Economics organizes class room seminars for BA students on various relevant and important topics both Curriculum and Co-Curriculum aspects.

       

       

      Bridge Course:-

       

      The department of economics organized a bridge course to non-economics  students who joined the first year at the beginning of academic year. The non-economics students are identified at the entry level. Separate syllabus is framed for this purpose. This coaching helps them to get acquainted with the subject well.

      Group Discussion:-

       

      Students are divided into various groups and the topic is given to make discussion among the group members in the presence of the lecture and their performance reviewed and suggestions are given if needed.

      Remedial Coaching:-

       

      Remedial classes are arranged by the department to slow learners and back log students of Economics and after analyzing the unit test marks, the weak students are selected for remedial coaching. Intensive coaching and dictation of important points are the main tools of remedial coaching.

      Tutorials:-

       

       

      Department of economics provides regular coaching for the students who they are under post assessed students like slow and average learners and also going in for supplementary exams who are few in numbers. Tutorials are like chitchatting with the students regarding the syllabus and subject matter, alumni students are also guiding the students.

       

       

      • Research & Innovations

       

      Promotion of research & Resource mobilization:-

       

                  Pertaining to Dr SP Krishnaveni Assistant Professor of Economics.

       

      • Minor Research project”Structural trends in Capital formation in agriculture sector – A case study in Sangareddy Mandal”was sanctioned by UGC – SERO in the year 2014-15 and the project work is in progress.

       

      • Dr SP Krishnaveni Assistant Professor in Economics was submitted a proposal for conducting the two day national seminar on the topic “WOMEN EMPOWERMENT THROUGH INCLUSIVE GROWTH IN INDIAN ECONOMY”,to UGC-SERO.

       

      • Department initiated students study projects on socio economic field survey on Kalabgoor village and it was selected for Yavatharangam District best student survey.

       

      • UGC provided Financial assistance has been provided to the students for pursuing research projects under education innovation, college development programs of UGC XI Plan period. And Students submitted the Topic “The Relationship between Income and Consumption Patters (A Case study with reference to Sangareddy and Kalabgoor.
      • Department also sending NCC cadets for helping state and National level events like Election duties, pulse polio campaigns(Cadets got the remuneration for this event)
        • Several initiatives are taken by the department in conducting interdisciplinary seminars on relative and current important issues.
      • The department has a well stocked library, which include reference books and journals.
      • Students are formed into groups and are allowed to utilize the facilities.

      In the process of evaluation and research promotion the advanced, average learners will be given creative assignments & ICT assignments to the students.

      Dr. SP. Krishnaveni was awarded PhD degree in Economics from Osmania University in 2011-12

      Dr. SP. Krishnaveni, also Trained at Officers Training   Academy (OTA), Gwalior, M.P. for 3 months and was awarded NCC Army Lieutenant rank in senior wing section.

      Faculty Forum:-

       

                  Faculty forum was formed under the chairmanship of principal and senior faculty members of the college.

                  Dr S P Krishnaveni Assistant Professor in Economics, as convenor for faculty forum and Research club. The club constituted in the year of 2012-13. The faculty forum has decided on the basis of some research oriented objectives to inculcate the faculty and the students.

      ECO – Research Club:-

       

                  It is formed in the year of 2015. Research club of the department consists of few students of BA I, II, III years. Who are selected for doing some surveys relating to the economic educational and social back ground nearly villages.

      There is regular interaction between the department and industry. Students are visit to various industries and organizations as part of field trip to get practical knowledge.

      • KCP cement company ltd. Macharla.
      • Visit to SBH Sangareddy, and Dist. Cooperative Central Bank, Sangareddy.
      • Inviting experts and organizing Seminars, workshops and awareness programmes.

      Faculty members are encouraged to take part in consultancy services by giving extension, guest lectures in other colleges.

      • Faculty members are also act as judges/Subject experts in various events organized by other Govt. and other Organizations.
      • Dr SP Krishna veni  act as paper setters for autonomous colleges, MVS Govt Degree College, Mahbubnagar  and TARA GDC Sangareddy ID colleges ( For Prefinal, Final papers)

       Extension activities and Institutional Social Responsibility

       

      Extension activities are performed by the students and faculty that fall outside the area of regular curriculum, through NCC, Eco Research Club, NSS, Consumer Club, Eco Club, Red ribbon club. The department promotes active participation of the students. The NSS and NCC units provide orientation to create interest in extension activities and to enroll for membership after admission in 1st year course

       

      • Dr SP Krishnaveni Assistant Professor,  undergone for 3 months NCC (ANO) training at Officers Training Academy  , Gwalior (MP) dated from 15.12.2013 to 15.03.2014 and awarded as Army  Lieutenantrank in senior wing.

      • Dr SP Krishnaveni Assistant Professor in Economics provided 3 days training programme to JL’s as resource person organized by TSBOIE, Hyderabad from 20.11.2014 to 22.11.2014 at GJC for boys, Sangareddy. It is training programme for JL’s of Medak District in Economics subject.

       

      • Invited / Extension lecture delivered by Dr SP K V, BA III year students at GDC, Patancheru dated on 11.02.2013.

       

      • Attended three days training programme, “Public private partnership for the abatement of client change” dated from 28.07.2011 to 30.07.2011 at Dr.MCHRD, Hyderabad.

       

      • Detailed for combined Annual training camps (CATC),  as a Associate NCC officer (ANO) Co-Ordination with 33 (T)BN, SRD and delivered lectures on personality development, role of NCC, Map reading class ,etc.,

       

      • Partially handling classes in the course of B.com I year Budera residential college students to teach the subject of Managerial economics.

      It improves the personality of the ward in many ways. Bio-data with photo is taken from each student which comprises the Socio – Economic background of the student.

       

      The first year students are guided properly as to how to adjust with the degree college atmosphere  and how to utilize the time properly.

      • The department encourages students to pursue higher studies. The students are informed about regular and distant education facilities.
      • The department is encouraging students to appear for competitive exams like TPSC, UPSC, BED, DSC, DIET, BSRB, NCC army selections for B, C passed cadets. Tips were given to the students in that aspect.
      •   Invited lectures are also available in the department for giving career guidance to     the BA economics students.
      • Student approached the department for their future career guidance. They are advice to choose different career course according to their aptitude and mental ability.
