                  The college was established during the year 1984 with traditional courses in social science i.e., B.A and B.Com.

      ABSTRACT OF CRITERION-WISE ACTIVITIES:

      CURICULLAR ASPECTS:

       

            The curriculum taught in this institution is in accordance to the syllabus prescribed by the Department of History, Osmania University, Hyderabad.

                  Coverage of syllabus is being reviewed in the departmental meetings held at regular intervals.

      1. Quiz Programs.
      2. Field Trips.
      3. Assignments.
      4. Seminars.
      5. Remedial Coaching.

       

      Assignments

                  To inculcate the study culture among the students, assignments were given periodically.

                  Assignments made the students to read and write the subject in a detailed way. It enables the students to have knowledge of the subject.

      The following assignments were given to the students.

      Seminar presentation

                  The department of Historyencouraged the students to actively participate in the seminar presentation. The presentation of seminar allows the students to increase the analytical skills of the subject. To present a seminar the student needs to have a good knowledge of the subject. This work helps the students to develop teaching and presentation skills.

      Quiz Competition

       

      • To inculcate a healthy competitive spirit, the students were divided into different groups and quiz competition was conducted .
      • The students responded with great Zeal and enthusiasm.

       

      FIELD TRIPS:

                  As a Part of curriculum field trips were conducted so as to enhance the scientific attitude among the students of History. Different field trips arranged by the department are as follows:

      TEACHING LEARNING AND EVALUATION

      Teaching

      Teaching plan is prepared for teaching. Faculty members take the classes according to the time table. After admitting the students into 1st year programme, bridge/orientation classes are conducted to bring all the students of 1st year to auniform level. Seminar presentations, group discussions, quiz programs are added to the normal teaching practices.

       

       

      Learning

      To encourage independent learning in addition to class room learning some study projects are given to the students. Assignments are given to increase the students learning capacity. Previous year question papers are given to the students. To make the students acquire additional knowledge, guest lectures are arranged.

      Evaluation

      This is an important process of feed back from student through which the faculty member will assess the level of understanding of the student with regard to the subject. This is done by regular conduct of tests. This will reveal the difference between the slow and advanced learners.

      Orientation/Bridge Classes

      For first year students in the beginning of academic year orientation/bridge classes are conducted for a week so that the students who are weak in the History subject will be brought to the required level to understand the subject and they can compete with the other students in the class.

      The college has a well established library and its serves the students community by lending the text books and reference books. Apart from the college central library the department of Historypossess a departmental library. This library of department helps the students by lending text books.

      • Lecturers  were also invited to give lectures, so that the students of the department are psychologically made strong.

       

      Remedial coaching      

      The faculty of department of Historyconducted several remedial coaching classes to the average and below average students.

                 

      Career guidance

         All the final year students were assembled in the class room by the members of Historyfaculty and discussed with them about their future plan of action with regards of continuing higher education after successful completion of U.G. courses.
