INTRODUCTION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH: 

The Department of English started functioning from 1965 in Government Degree College, Jammikunta as General English for all the Degree Courses in first and second year. The Department started with an initial strength of 200 students including B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., and B.Zc. Later on an English Language Communication Skills Lab was established and 30 computers with necessary computer peripherals were purchased. More than 25 English Lecturers have worked so far.

Objective:-

Objectives of our Department are as follows: To enhance communicative skills through language and literature. To reinforce listening, speaking skills through practice in the language lab cultivate a value-added life to face challenges and achieve excellence to develop global competency To strengthen aesthetic sense To give the students a platform to express their creativity and talent.
