Brief History of the Department:

The Department of Computer Science and Applications of this college was inaugurated in the year 1998, with the initiation of certain Contract lecturers. Later on a Computer Science and Applications Department was established with a sanction of 7 Lecturer posts. In the year 1990 the Government of Andhra Pradesh introduced Restructured Courses at Degree Level, under the Scheme B.Com. (Computer Applications) with an intake of 60 each. This Department teaching computer subjects for B.Com. (CA),        B. Sc. (M.P.Cs.), BBM, BZCA.

Inconsonance with the revolution of computerization of modern world, Government of India in general and Andhra Pradesh in particular has evinced deep insight into the field and in resonance with rowing demand brought in adventure revolution in Hi-Tech development. The emergence of the Department of Computer was the result of this Hi-Tech yield in 1998.

            During its inception there were no computers and lecturers. There after eight (8) ‘Wipro System’ were purchased and faculty arranged. Then students are rush over towards the course in the department. In the same spirit Department has taken its wing and flourished by purchasing new systems stage by stage.
