Department of Political Science is one of the specialized branches ofSocial Sciences of Government Degree College for Women, Karimnagar, wasestablished in 1973 with a motto “Empowering Women through Education”.Since its inception the Department of Political Science has been catering to theneeds of the students from the urban and rural areas of Karimnagar who optfor social sciences as their optional. Keeping the motto “Virtue is Knowledge”on high pedestal, the department endeavors to inculcate among the studentsthe ethical norms, besides equipping them with the expertise in subject. AsAristotle stated “Good citizens make good state” the department’s avowedobjectiveistoprovidethesocietythewell-equipped,knowledgeableandresponsiblecitizens.Theprimaryaimofthedepartmentistoguidethestudentsintogreenerpasturesofopportunitiesaftertheirgraduation.Holisticdevelopment of the students by imbibing the qualities of leadership, teamwork, communication skills, event management etc. underlies the vision of thedepartment.
