The department of History was established in the year 1973 the inception of thecollege with a strength of 132 students and it was sanctioned by the governmentvideMs.No1632,dated19.10.1973.TheseparateUrdumediumsectionofB.A[HEP] post sanctioned in 2008. At present the sanctioned strength of eachmedium:

Since its inception many luminaries and high-spirited lecturers graced thedepartment and served the student community through teaching History. Thediscipline is vital for thevery information for commonsensein the publicsphere,anintegralpartofanynationidentity.ThepersonslikeC.SanjeevaRao,Sri Appaiah Sastry, Madhava Reddy, B. Satyanarayana, M. Govardhan andK.Kishan Reddy enhanced the prestige of the department and molded thestudentstofacethechallengesoflife.
