The Indira Priyadarshin Govt. Degree College for Women Nampally was established in the year 1981. In the same year the Department of Urdu was established. The main objective of the Department is to spread awareness about literary and cultural importance and relevance of Urdu culture, Urdu language and Urdu literature among Students. Every year around 90 to 100 students are opting Urdu as Second language from B.A, B.Com and B.Sc groups. The department has produces 100% results since the establishment.
