“Mathematics”is the key which opens the doors of all science Subjects.
Mathematics trains the faculty of the brains and it produces similar training to other faculties. The trained brain is more useful in taking better decisions in our day to day life. This is why many of the people who raised to better levels of the society were basically trained by Mathematics as their master.
History of the Department
The Department of Mathematics was started in the Year 2008 in Govt. Degree College,kukatpally affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad ,At that time there was only one group i.e., Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry English as the medium
When the MPC course was started, there was only one sanctioned Post in the department.
After establishment of the department, Smt. Rajani worked sincerely for the up-liftment of the department.
In the year 2018 Dr. K. Sujatha M.Sc., Ph.D.,Dr.N.Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy and Sri.Ch.Soloman Raju have joined in the department as lecturer by promotion. Dr.K.Sujatha has done research work in the topic “Studies on domination parameters and cycle structure of Cayley Graphs associated with some Arithmetical Functions” .

METHOD OF ASSESSING THE STUDENTS:
The method of assessing our students academic standards after admission in order to provide enrichment is through:
1. Monthly tests. 2. Assignments and Group discussions 3. Seminars by students On the basis of the above, the students are analyzed as poor, average and bright.
Ø The poor students provided with remedial coaching Ø The average students are given assignments. Ø The bright students are allotted study projects. TEACHING AIDS AND METHODS:
Apart from usual chalk and board methods all the faculty members make use of various models to explain the lesson and underlying principles in different theories.
Charts and overhead projector is used for better understanding and easy remembrance of the topic.
Chapter wise quiz questions are prepared and a quiz is conducted in the classrooms.
Students attend ManaTV classes, where regularly telugu coverage will be there.
EVALUATION:
For every class unit tests are conducted regularly. After correction of the papers students were made aware of their mistakes. Internal Examinations are conducted keeping in view of the scheme and pattern of the forth coming public Examinations. A number of Assignments were given in each class. Students prepared a number of charts in the given assignments. REMEDIAL COACHING: Remedial classes were conducted for 2ndand 3rdyear students. Students were selected for remedial coaching basing on their performance in the university Examination. Such remedial classes were conducted during the regular study hours in the college premises after the college instruction hours are over. Remedial coaching is intended to enhance the result percentage. RESEARCH CONSULTANCY AND EXTENSION: The faculty member Dr. K. Sujatha has done her Ph.D., on regular basis under the guidance of Prof. L. Nagamuni Reddy, Department of Mathematics of S.V. University, Tirupathi. The topic is studies on Domination parameters and cycle structure of Cayley graphs Associated with some Arithmetical functions. The faculty member Dr. N.Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy has done his Ph.D., on FDP basis under the guidance of Prof. KIshan, Department of Mathematics of Osmania University,Hyderabad. The faculty member Sri.Ch.Soloman Raju doing his Ph.D., on Part-time basis under the guidance of Prof. Surender Reddy, Department of Mathematics of Osmania University,Hyderabad. COUNSELING OF THE STUDENTS:
