      About the Department

                The MKR Govt degree college,  Devarakonda, Nalgonda Dist. was established in the year 1981, college with B.A,B.Com and BZC Courses as a Co-Education College. The Department of political science was also started in the year 1981 with Telugu Medium.

                         The Department of political science has of one (Single) Sanctioned Lecturer Post. At present Sri .V.Makatlal has been working in the college. Since March 11th 2020.He Passed M.A Political Science from Osmania University, Hydrabad.

      About the Programme

              In the present scenario of Politics, the demand for political services in form and size increasing and political science has become vital. Educational as it opens up many educational opportunities such as M.A., MBA and other related courses. It is also important because it could lead to entry level jobs in political services and in various departments.






      Profile of the Students


      •   More than 80% of students are hailing from poor socio-economic background and with average awareness levels. Most of them are first generation learners representing rural arcades.



      • Some of the students have low percentage of marks they are found to have passed in compartment and pass division at the entry level.




      • Majority of the students commutes daily from their native villages like tribal areas   situated in the vicinity of kondanagula  college.




      • Despite of the low performance at entry level the students are well taught and encouraged to overcome the difficulties by arranging bride courses student seminars, extension lectures and frequent tests.




      • The performance of the students is tested through annual examinations. The strength particulars and the results of the last three batches are given below.
