                         NCC PROFILE

                                NCC 47/9(Telangana) COY,

               GOVT. DEGREE COLLEG(A), SIDDIPET,

 

             National Cadet Corps was established in the  Govt. Degree College(A), Siddipet in the year 1962, in a few years of the establishment of the College which is catering the needs of the students of backward track of North Telangana region covering the districts of erstwhile  Medak, Karimnagar and Warangal.

About NCC:

     The NCC came into existence on 16th July 1948 under the NCC Act- XXXVI of 1948 under Ministry of Defence. The Motto of NCC is “ UNITY and DISCIPLINE“ which was adopted on 23rd December, 1957.

     At present, there are 13 lakhs of cadet strength all over the country in Senior division and Junior division covering 4500 colleges and 6500 schools.

AIMS OF NCC:  The Aims of NCC are:-

  •  To develop  character, Comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and the ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country.
  • To  create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and always available for the service of the nation.
  • To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take a career in the Armed Forces.

NCC CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS:

  1. JD/JW------ "A” Certificates 
  2. SD/SW------ “B and “C” Certificates

INCENTIVES IN NCC:  

 Preference in the state and central recruitments.

  • 100 vacancies reserved for SSC (Short Service Commission) in Defence forces for “C“ certificate the  holders having “A” or“ B ” Grades through OTA, Chennai.  
  •  64 vacancies reserved for “ C “ certificate holders through IMA , Dehradun. 
  •  In Navy 6 percent of the posts reserved for the NCC cadets without any exam but only based on oral exam.
  •  2 to 10 % of bonus marks awarded for recruitment for Sailor, Airmen, OR paramilitary forces and Telecom department.
  •  Indian Air Force gives 10% vacancies in all categories to NCC cadets based on oral test.
  • " C " cadets are eligible for recruitment to gazette posts in CRPF
  • State governments are giving preference in state services  for NCC certificate holders.

 

NCC OFFICER

  • Capt. K. Raghavendra Rao is the First NCC ANO of This Unit NCC 47/9(T)Bn GDC Siddipet  from:1964-65

 

  • R. MAHENDER REDDY Asst Prof of Telugu  is the present  Caretaker of the College NCC Company. He took charge from the former caretaker W. Yadav  on 10th December 2020.

CADET STRENGTH

 At present  NCC 47/9(T)Bn  Coy have   160  cadet strength which includes

 47-III rd year, 55-II nd year ,58- I st year  cadets

ACHIVEMENTS OF THE COMPANY.(2016-2021)

  • REPUBLIC DAY CAMPS

    Four  cadets were selected for Republic Day Camps to be held in Delhi in the last five years.

  1. This Company  SUO, A. KRISHNA  got selected for Republic Day Camp January, 2016. He got the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister of India as part of Tea party given by PM. Thus, he made the company proud by attending the RDC parade.
  2. CSUO  B. BABU got selected for Republic Camp, January, 2017. He got the opportunity to be part of the slathering team on the occasion of Republic Day parade.
  3. CSUO  G. KISHORE got selected for Republic Camp, January, 2018. He got the opportunity to be part of the slathering team on the occasion of Republic Day parade .He  attend the Advance Leadership Camp also in 2018.
  4. CSUO  T. RAJKUMAR  got selected for Republic Camp, January, 2020. He got the opportunity to be part of the slathering team on the occasion of Republic Day parade.

PRE-RDC / LRDC CAMPS

  08 Cadets of the company attended the PRE-RDC/ LRDC  Camps held in   Bison Training Ground Secunderabad. during the past 5  years.

TALASENA CAMPS:

 There is TALASENA Camp every year in which cadets are given training in FIRING, OBSTACLES COURSEAnd  MAP READING.

  • CSUO  B.SaiCharan Reddy   Cadet  of the company got selected for TSC  during the year  2017.
  • JUO B. Hariprasanna Cadet of the Company got selected for TSC-IUC during the year 2019.

NATIONAL INTEGRATAION & Ek Bharath Shresth Bharath Camps:

 This camp is conducted every year to inculcate national integration among NCC cadets by conducting camps in different parts of the country regularly.

  • SUO  L. Ravi  participated in Special NIC at Andaman Nicobar  Islands in the year 2017.
  • JUO  K. Sai Nithin  participated in Ek bharath shresht bharath camp at  Amrithsar, Punjab in the year 2018.
  • CSUO  B.Hareesh Participated in Special NIC Mountaineering Adventure at JAMMU& KASHMIR in the year 2019.

 

  ARMY ATTACHMENT CAMP:

26  Cadets of this company got selected for the Army Attachment camps during the past 5  years. Seven cadets got selection for this camp for the Training year 2021-22. As part of this camp, the NCC Cadets are given military  training by attaching them to Regular Army routine. These camps are conducted to provide the experience ofrock climbing and trekking to the NCC cadets every year .

 Social Service  Activities of NCC:

  • BLOOD DONATION

NCC cadets not only participate in drill camps but also do social service by donating blood to the needy. Every year, a regular BLOOD DONATION camp is conducted as part of NCC Raising day celebrations in the month of November.   cadets are ready to give blood to the needy whenever hospital authorities ask for blood in emergency.

  • TREE PLANTATION

Tree plantation programme is taken up by the NCC cadets every year to protect the Earth from pollution. This programme is conducted twice in a year. Firstly, in the months of July and August to plant saplings in the college premises and in the neighbouring villages and secondly in the month of November as part of NCC day celebrations. 

  • ANTI DRUG AND ANTI-CANCER RALLY

The cadets of NCC company take up Anti - Drug and Anti - Cancer Rally to create awareness among the people of Siddipet town and neighbouring villages about the ill- effects of consumption of drugs and tobacco products by holding placards and giving slogans on their way. An anti- Cancer Rally was organized in November  as part of NCC raising day celebration.

  • GANESH NIMIJAN & Mukkoti Ekadashi  BANDOBAST  DUTY

    NCC cadets of our company assist the Siddipet Police in the Ganesh Nimajjan & Mukkoti Ekaasadshi duty every year in the months of August / September and January   

  • ELECTION DUTY

The cadets of our company participate in the programmes  which strengthen the democracy in the country. As part of that, the election Commission of India asks the cadets of NCC to support the local police in the sacred duty of electioneering during general elections as well as bye- elections. The cadets are given appreciation and participation certificates for their service.  

PERFORMANCE OF THE CADETS IN “B” and “C“ CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS:

In the last Five  years, 263  “B“ cadets and 58 “C“ Cadets  successfully passed out their certificate courses.

EMPOYMENT OF NCC CADETS IN UNIFORM SERVICES

Hundreds of NCC cadets got selected as police constables, Sub Inspectors and soldiers in the Indian Army in the last 50 years. Every  training years around  ten  cadets of the company got selected as Constables in the state police service and Indian Army.

CONCLUSION:

Thus, 47/9(Telangana) COY, of Government Degree College, Siddipet doing yeoman service to the students of Siddipet division and other parts of neighbouring districts of Telanganaregion by providing them all kinds training and character building activities. Thus, getting them ready to become future leaders, good citizens, police officers and armed personnel.
