Department Profile
The Department of commerce was established in the year1966 with English as Medium of instruction and with a permitted strength of 60.In its evalution process in 1971 another section with Telugu as medium of instruction was started with another 60 intake.Further in the year 1998 B.com computer Application course was started with another 60 intake subsequently the permitted intake put together rose to 180 in each year and totally for three years 540.The Department of Commerce is endowed with highly qualified and experienced faculty members.They are always instrumental in inculcating and imparting quality and employable education, skills and competencies among commerce students .The deparment is one of the vital & crucial deparments of the college from the point of student’s strength, acadamic results , organising various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.Guiding,supervising and mentoring students for their career growth & development and advancement in their future Endeavour are afew feathers in its cap right from its inception in1966.
The deparment plays commandable and invincible role in producing prominent,esteemed and distinguished alumni.The students of the deparment have been excelled and explored themselves in different fields,events and activities and brought unprecendented glory and remarakable shine to the college in general and deparment at particular.Its faculty also closely associated and conduced with copious amount of scholastic works,which are indeed quite useful to its students and college in general. At present the deparment has 8 faculty mebers in which Three is possessed Doctorate,Three M.phil,s and all the rest of the faculty members are pursuing their research degree besides possesing UGC-Accrediated NET/SLET/SET certificates.Right from commencement of the course in the college to till date 16 well experienced faculty members have discharged their flawless duties as HOD,S At present Dr.A.Balachandram is discharging his responsibilities as Head and chairman,BOS of the Department.Following table gives the list of faculty working in the Department.
