ABOUT COLLEGE

Government Degree College, Eturnagaram has been sanctioned in Agency Area by the Government of Andhrapradesh during the academic year 2007-2008 vide RC. No. 288/Admn-I-2/2007 dated 06-12-2007 for the Welfare of Tribal People in the Agency Area of Eturnagaram Jayashankar Bhualpally District. This College was started initially in the Boys Hostel located in College campus started  with 200 students. Now Completed 7years of valuable educational service. The college now offers degree programmes in Commerce, Science, Arts and computer courses. The Commissioner Collegiate Education, A.P. Hyderabad has sanctioned the B.A (HEP), B.Com (General), B.Com (Computer), B.Sc (BZC) and B.Sc (MPC, MPCs) courses. The College aims to mould the student community hailing mostly from the marginalized, tribe’s (koyas) and weaker sections of the society into better individuals, and guide them to contribute constructively towards national goals by upholding the values of secularism, national integration and social commitment. The primary objective of the institution is to enable the students to cope up with the demands of the contemporary global scenario through effective instruction of the curricular and co-curricular aspects. Academic excellence, personality development and social orientation are our guiding principles

  We strive to develop a strong foundation of ethical principles in our students and make them academically excellent to acquire global competencies with the help of technology, so that they can substantially contribute to national development. The college ranks first in Warangal District in terms of the result of B.Sc., B.A and B. Com in all academic years from 2007 among all Government Colleges in Warangal district affiliated to Kakatiya University.

The strength of the institution is its qualified and committed faculty members, industrious administrative staff, state of the art infrastructure, well equipped with interactive classes, high speed Wi-Fi internet access 24/7, availability of computers in English Language Lab, JKC( Jawahar Knowledge Centre), computer facilities for scanning, printing and copying.  The college is providng  good library facilities to all students from morning 9.00 AMto 6 PM.The college has always been in the frontline in fulfilling its social objectives in terms of educational attainments and producing quality individuals.

The weak points of our institution are the occasional shortage of permanent lecturers for certain subjects. Besides, the college is fully equipped with K-yons (computers cum projector), interactive boards, LCD projectors, high speed internet with Wi-Fi connectivity. This College attached to the Boys Hostel and Girls Hostel. The opportunities ahead of us are many. We also hope to elicit more funding and academic projects from CCE,Telangana Government, Hyderabad for infrastructural enhancement. We strive to sustain our student support activities and improve the quality of our services

The challenges ahead of us are diverse. We need to assure better financial assistance for the successful accomplishment of our future projects. Continuous enhancement of infrastructure, proper maintenance, improving the quality of academic services, extension, research activities and student support programmes are a few of the challenges ahead. The college is confident that it can sustain and improve its services to the students and the general public in the coming years.

HISTORICAL BACK GROUND OF AREA ABOUT ETURNAGARAM


Eturnagaram is a village and a mandal in Warangal district in the state of Telangana in India. It is one of the most beautiful places in Andhra Pradesh. It is totally covered with deep forest.

Eturnagaram is 250 km away from the capital of Telangana. It is a mandal, located on the National Highway 202. There are 13 Grama panchayats and 64 villages in this mandal. The mandal area is totally surrounded by a deep forest. There are more than 2 lakh people in this mandal. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1953 due to its rich bio-diversity. It is spread at a distance of 806 km2 in Warangal district. It is located at a distance of 103 km from Warangal and 250 km from Hyderabad. The roads are laid out nicely and a ride through the forest gives a thrilling experience. The village has two ponds which look spectacular with lotus flowers spreading all over and one would surely like to have a picture of it

The famous Medaram is about 25 km from this placeIn this area a big festival will be conducted i.e madaram Sammakka- Sarakka Jatara held once in every two years. It is big festival of Adivasi in Asian continent. Nearly 2-3 crores of devotees may visit this during the two days festival.

Another holy place nearby is the spectacular Mallur Narasimhaswamy Temple, which is about 25 km from the place. One should visit at least once in one's lifetime so as to feel the solace. The prestigious Devadula project is located in this mandal itself. We have to stretch to the most remote part of Telangana State to find it. Also, this mandal is on the border of Telangana State and Chathisgarh State.The famous Bellarpur Paper Industry limited is ten km away from this place. Devadula lifit irrigation project is about 50 kms from this place.World famous Ramappa temple is about 52 kms from this place.

 

 Wildlife sanctuary

The surrounding forest includes southern tropical dry deciduous type of teak and its associates like thiruman, maddi, and bamboo, while the fauna includes several endangered animals like tiger, sloth bear, four-horned antelope, chinkara and black buck.

There is a wildlife sanctuary located in Eturnagaram. River Godavari also passes through the outskirts of the village.

The climate is usually hot round the year. The temperature often reaches 43°C during summer. There is a sufficient rainfall in the every year. The annual average rainfall is about 1000 mm

Best time to visit: From October to January

Accommodation: A forest rest house with one suite and three tourist huts are available at Tadvai and ITDA guest house at Etunagaram.

How to reach there

By road: A number of RTC buses and private transport are available from Warangal.

By rail: The nearest railway station are Warangal and Kazipet, at about 100 km away.

By air: Hyderabad is the nearest airport, which is 250 km.
