Library Events

Besides the regular activities, Our Library also organises the Literary competitions for the students, like Quiz, Essay Writing, Crossword Puzzles, Singing, SUDOKU, Book Review, etc... Competitions during the National Librarians Day and National Library Week Celebrations. Library organises Library Orientation programmes to Staff and Students to create awareness on Library for better utilization of the Library’s Print and Electronic Information Resources and encouraging the students and teaching staff to reinforce their Academic and Research pursuits. Organises Special Book Exhibitions on the days of national and international importance, such as Telugu Basha Day, Telangana Basha Day, National Library Week, National Science Day, etc... And also organises Career guidance for PG Entrance and Competitions and World Book and Copyright day, etc...

 

2016-17

1. Organized “Library Orientation – 2016” Programme to the staff and students of  GDC Agraharam on 30/08/2016
2. Organized Special book display on on Telangana Literature on the occasion of Telangana Basha Day (Sri Kaloji birth anniversary) on 9/9/2016.
3. Organized “49^th National Library Week – 2016” Celebrations from 15/11/2016 to 19/11/2016. Conducted Book Exhibition, Book Review, Quiz, Essay writing, Elocution and Singing Competitions to students and distributed the prizes.
4. Organised Book Review Session on “Koutilya Arthasastra” by Smt. E. Anitha, Asst. Prof. of History, GDC Agraharam.
5. Organized Special book display on Science & Technology on the eve of National Science Day celebrations on 28/02/2017.

2017-18

1. Digital Library is established and made available to Students and Staff from 6/09/2017.
2. Organized Special book display on Telangana Literature on the occasion of Telangana Basha Day (Sri Kaloji birth anniversary) on 9/9/2017.
3. Organized “Library Orientation – 2017” Programme to the staff and students of  GDC Agraharam on 13/11/2017
4. Organized “50^th National Library Week – 2017” Celebrations from 14/11/2017 to 20/11/2017. Conducted Book Exhibition, Book Review, Slogan Writing, Essay writing, SUDOKU, Quiz and Singing Competitions to students and distributed the prizes.
5. Organized  Special book exhibition and Book review on “Merchant of Venice” by Sri Ch. Maruthi on the occasion of “World Book & Copyright Day” to inculcate reading habits among the students on 23-04-2018.
6. Organized “Career guidance and Awareness programme on Online educational resources” for the benefit of students and staff of GDC Agraharam on 04/05/2018

2018-19

 

Celebrated the ‘Librarians Day’ on the occasion of Birth Day of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, Father of Library Science in India on 13/ 08/2018.

Library Orientation program for the first year students on 29/10/2018 for better utilization of library and its resources.

Grandly celebrated 48th National Library Week Celebrations from 14^th – 20^th November 2018 by organizing programs to inculcate reading habits and encourage students to visit libraries and use the resources to the maximum extent.

Organised Book talk Competion to the students to inculcate reading habits among the students on the on the occasion of ‘World Book and Copyright Day’ on 23^rd April 2019.

Career Guidance on PG Entrance Examination jointly arranged by Department of Library & Information Science and ‘Career guidance Cell’ for final year students of this college on 8^th May 2019

Awareness Programme on Online Educational Resources and SWAYAM courses for the benefit of  students and Staff  on 8^th May 2019.
