  1. FIELD TRIP TO " GOVERNMENT ORIENTAL MANUSCRIPTS LIBRARY & RESEARCH INSTITUTE " 21.01.2020

The Department of Sanskrit, Staff members & Sanskrit students of B. A. , B. Com & B. Sc. 2nd year went to the Government of Oriental Manuscripts Library & Research Institute, Osmania University Campus, Hyd. 

There are 24000 manuscripts of different languages like Sanskrit, Telugu, Urdu, Arabic & Persian. The students were shown P. P. T about the following manuscripts dated before 15th Century. 

1.Wooden slates

2.Bricks

3.Animal skin

4.Ivory

5.Bamboo

6.Aloe vera

7.Palm leafs

8.Cotton & silk

9.Animal bone

10.Paper scrolls. 

Finally students of V. G. D. C were very much satisfied after finishing the field trip. They got a lot of awareness about the future plans of the Sanskrit Department.

  1. EXTENSION LECTURE EPORT: [ WEBINAR ON ZOOM ]

The Department of Sanskrit V. G. D.C. Organized an "Extension lecture" On 11.05.2020 ( Zoom) & Dr. Anupama Ryali, Associate Professor,School of Vedic Sciences MIT - ADT University, Pune, Maharashtra, delivered the lecture on " The Relevance of Sanskrit in the Modern World"

OUTCOME : 

The Program created an awareness among the students regarding the Sanskrit Language & motivated them to pursue it for further studies.

It was a proud moment for the Department of Sanskrit as the Telangana Government had declared the Best Teacher Award 2020 to the one of our Associate Professor Dr. A. Mukta Vani. She has been in this line of Profession for the past 27years.

  1. INTERNATIONAL MOTHER TONGUE DAY : ON 24.02.2021

With the collaboration of the Department of Telugu & The faculty of Second Languages we organized a programme. 

On the occasion of this International Mother Tongue day, The Department of Sanskrit had conducted a competition on Chanting of Shlokas, in which the participants received 1st & 2nd prizes.

  1. STUDENT SEMINAR :

Student seminar was conducted on the occasion of " International Women's Day " On 12.03.2020, on the topic 

" The Role of Women in the Ramayana & the Mahabharata" . Ten students had presented their presentations in their class room.

  1. WEBINAR ON ZOOM ON 3.02.2021

The Welcome Address was given by the Principal Dr. G. Sukanya Madam, in her speech she described beautifully thr nature of Kavi Kalidasa & she blessed the Department of Sanskrit & the students. 

As a guest of honor Prof. A. Ramulu, Ex H. O. D of Department of Sanskrit in O. U. addressed the webinar on the topic - " Himalayonama Nagadhirajh ". He told about Kavi Kalidasas all seven kavyas & it's views. Then he explained 1st semester lesson " Himalayonama Nagadhirajh " in detail. 

It took us by a surprise that 345 students had attended this Webinar which was held in Zoom.

  1. ESSAY WRITING OMPETITION:

On the occasion of the Republic Day on 26.01.2021 the Department of Sanskrit has held an Essay Writing Competition on the topic -

" The Contribution of Youth for a Better India "
