As per the Collegiate Education, Government of Telangana G.O.Ms.No. 4 dated; 13-02-2017 sanctioned new Government Degree College, Chanchalguda in Hyderabad district from the academic year 2017-18 to cater to the educational needs of the socially and economically under privileged students. The college is situated in the heart of the city. Presently college is running in Government School Building (Ground + 2 floors) with 09 rooms, out of which 07 allotted for class rooms, 01 for Principal chamber and 01 for staff room. The institution started for under graduate level courses in Arts, Commerce and Science with 204 students and 11 staff members with affiliation to Osmania University. In the current academic year (2022-23), there are 425 students on roll with 111 female and 314 male students who have joined the college from all across the state of Telangana, through the Degree Online Services of Telangana (DOST).The institution started shift system in a common campus shared by Govt. Junior College Chanchalguda due to large strength and lack of accommodation. The college strength started increasing year by year as a result the Government of Telangana sanctioned an amount of Rs.5 crores for the construction of new college building to accommodate the increased strength and Government also allotted 1 acre exclusively for Degree College. The Telangana Government started construction for new degree college building with 40 class rooms, 7 laboratories, principal chamber, seminar hall, mini auditorium, staff room office room, and ladies waiting room.

At present, there are 20 UG courses with students’ strength of 1030 with 16 permanent faculty members 10 contract and supporting staff. The college has erudite faculty with 10 PhDs, 02 M.Phil, 07 NET and 05 SET qualifications and 03 more are pursuing Ph.D on part time.
