DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

Government Degree College, Siddipet was established in the year 1956. The subject of Public Administration was introduced in the year 1959, Sri G. Venkataiah was the lecturer appointed in Bi-Post to teach Public Administration and Political Science later he worked as principal and regional joint director of education department. In 1963 Dr. S. R. Krishna Reddy was appointed as a lecturer in department of Public Administration, he was an active Union activist and associated with many academic for academic fora.  Sri.M.Srinivasa reddy rendered his services as lecturer in this department from 1967 to 1971. From 1971 to 1983 A.V.Bal reddy lecturer took the reins addition T.Pratapa Reddy worked as lecturer from 1971 to 1986. Subsequently G.Vishwanatham also joined in the department and worked upto 1986. From 1986 to 1990 G.L.Narasimha Rao and Dr. K. Chakrapani worked as lecturers in the department of public administration. Sri G.L.Narasimha Rao wrote a book for first year public administration students. Dr. K.Chakrapani who did his Ph.D in public administration later worked as an academic guidance officer in commissioner of higher education. In 1990 T.Pratapa Reddy was posted again to this department and he continued upto 1995. A Srinivasa Chari joined as lecturer in the year 1991. He had flair for writing telugu poetry and a scholar in Sanskrit too. Presently A.Narasimha Reddy is the incharge of department he took over the charge of department from 2000, he joined in this college as a lecturer in 1984. P.Satya Narayana is also working as lecturer in this department from 5/11/2000.He was retired in 2010 year.Shaik Peer Saheb New faculty members joined in this college 2011 year N.Venu Public administration joined in this college 2016 .and 2018-19 Academic year N.Shobha rani and M,saritha joined as a guest faculty in the department of public administration.2019-2022 T. Venkat Reddy joined as regular faculty.

 

CURRICULAM

From 1959 to 1993 the department followed the syllabus which was designed by the Osmania University. From 1993 we have been following common core syllabus introduced by the government of Andra Pradesh, the department strictly adheres to academic schedule of the Osmania University, Hyderabad besides the syllabus completion the faculty tries to enlighten the students with recent trends and development in the subject. The department maintains academic records such as attendance registers of the students, teaching diary, teaching schedule, synopsis of the syllabus. The department prepares and annual academic plan with class room seminars and assignments.

CURRICULAR & CO-CORRICULAR ACTIVITIES

In addition to regular teaching we conduct Unit test, assignments, class seminar, paper presentation, extension lectures by guest faculty to enrich the knowledge of the students. Paper clippings, model question papers are also maintained in the department. The department prepares marks list and analysis of the results in the university examinations is done. Remedial is done

classes are also conducted for slow learners after the completion of the syllabus. The revision will also be taken up. The department conducts periodical meetings to review the academic activity. The faculty and the students of the department are actively associated with clean & green, janma bhumi, AIDS awareness, games & sports and cultural activities. Many students enrolled themselves in NCC & NSS.
