Aims and Objectives
The Alumni association of the Govt.Degree College,Wanaparthy was established on 03-10-2004 with strength of 30 members.Withn a year the strength has risen to more than one-hundred fifty members .The association is very active in all matters concerned with the The association is very active in all matters concerned with the development of the college .The executive body consists of President ,Vice-President ,Secretary,Joint secretary and treasurer and two members.
The following are the aims & objectives of Alumni:-
1)To develop the institution and look after welfare of the students .
2)To encourage the students towards better education.
3)To conduct sports and games for good health and discipline .
4)To raise funds by means of donations to provide infrastructure to run various recognized course wherever Govt.support was insufficient.
5)To create awareness among the students with regard to current affaires and developments in literary fields etc..
6)To conduct extention lectures of eminent scholars to update the knowledge of students .
7)To honour toppers in games and sports and rankers in subjects.
8)To extend financial assistance to brillient and poor students .
9)To make arrangements for the supply of books to the deserving.
Initially the members the collected a sum of about Rs.2500/- and took up the task of constructing a cycle -shed for the use by the students of the college.This task was successfully completed.
The alumni now proposes to construct a canteen in the college premises with all facilities for the benefit of the staff and students.
The members have also expressed the opinion that awards could be instituted for meritorious students who stood first in the respective subjects.
