HISTORY OF COLLEGE


The J. V. R. Government College is situated in Sathupally at Khammam district in Andhra Pradesh. 

Jalagam Vengal Rao Government College came into existence in the year 1976. Sri Jalagam Vengal Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh was pioneer in establishing this institution and the college was named after him. Initially the college functioned as affiliated college of Osmania University. The affiliation is eventually transferred to Kakatiya University during bifurcation from Osmania University. The institution is recognized by U.G.C. under Section 2(f) and 12 B in the year 1989. The college is situated in the semi urban area with a campus area of 12.25 acres.
