ABOUT TSKC:

The ever increasing prominence of India on the global map has led to a growing demand for hard working and talented students with good communication skills, computer skilled and industry related skills. The doors of global job market are opened to students who can speak fluently, compute quickly, write legibly and analyse logically. The conventional curriculum offered through B.A., B.Com and B.sc., courses does not impart requisite skills relevant for dynamic job market especially that of emerging industries like Software and BPO. The Department left the need to offer training to bridge the skill deficit of students and to enable them seize employment opportunities in job market.

After the formation of new state of Telangana, the programme is being followed with a fresh vigour. These JKCCenters now being called Telangana Skills & Knowledge Centers have expanded their scope and competencies. Based on the direction of Hon’ble Chief Minister few more programmes have been introduced to transform Education into a vehicle of change and adaptability of the students’ prerequisite skill sets. The number of TSKC laboratories is increased to 85 with the introduction of 20 new TSKCs laboratories in this year. Introduction of Online courses, 5 Certificate courses are the programs taken up from TSKCs plat form during 2015-16.

To encourage the students in all the GDCs, the CCE has initiated the training program, a mandate course to be transacted in 3 years for all the students from the academic year 2016-17 with 2 credits. The curriculum has to be transacted to all students @ of two periods per week and the students have to work on assignments given.

In view of the initiative of the CCE, the TSKC curriculum is redesigned in such a way that the student entering into the GDC shall be able to compete for an opportunity in the growing market. And the curriculum also encourages students as not only job seekers but also entrepreneurs to plan for start ups.

The hours (02) allotted for each course in a week will have to be shared by the teachers of the course along with the FTMs in the curriculum transaction in the following way.

The skills are imparted through Telangana Skill Knowledge Centre (TSKC, earlier known as JKC) in Government Degree Colleges to help students learn and practice employability skills.
