Brief description of Library Services as follows.
 
Circulation//Books Lending Service:
 
 
The circulation section is the nerve center of the library. The circulation section is responsible for the following items of the work:
 
i. Registration of readers
ii. Issuing and return of books and other reading materials
iii. Sending reminders for overdue books
iv. Realization of overdue charges and maintaining the account
v. Reservation of Books
vi. Maintaining the circulation statistics.
 
Our Library follows Open access system which allows readers to full access into the library. The readers could identify books of their requirement and use more effectively.
 
Membership:  All the bonafied Students, teaching staff members and non teaching staff are eligible to borrow the books from library. Users are identified in 3 catogories on the basis their privileges Membership Validity is up to the period of study for students and for the faculty and staff during their service at college. SOUL software generated user ID card Issued to each user.
 
Book Issue System: The borrower has to present his/her identity card for the issue of books. He/She  then is allowed to pickup any book/documents of his/her choice from the stock room, which is related to his/her subject or field. The related information of the book/document is stored in the computer along with his/her identity card number. 
 
        a. Book Lending Service: The books available in the library can be borrowed/referred by the faculty members and students of their interest. Depending on the availability of books in the library, certain number of books may be issued to the students and faculty members.
 
  i)  General Issue: In this all the text books are issued to staff members and students as per the  predefined privileges as shown below.

 ii)    Overnight issue: Books which are in much demand, less number of copies and costly books will be issued to the user at the time closure of the Library with instruction to return at the time opening of the library in next working day.
 iii)           On Campus issue:  In this, a book can be borrowed and returned on the same day.
 iv)         Extra Book Facilities to Meritorious Students: An extraordinary service may be provided to the students in order to support their merit by taking special risk by the library. Under this scheme, the top scorers in each class in a semester may be issued some books. This facility may be extended only on the excess availability of books in the library.
 
       b.      Periodical Lending Service: Normally the periodicals and reference books will not
be issued out of the library. However, our library allows to borrow the back issues of periodicals to students and faculty members for one week.
 
 Reference Service:
Reference service is considered as the heart of library services. Reference service is a process of establishing contact between a reader and a book in a personal way. The librarian tries to assists the reader in finding the book or information which he wants.
 
Referral Service:
In case of, user requested information is not available in the library, the users may be directed to visit other libraries where the information is available, which is called Referral Service.
 
News Paper Clipping Service:
Every day the newspapers are containing very important news in special edition on various subjects and college activities which are very useful to the readers. Depending on the usefulness of the information available in the newspaper, it may be cut/photocopied and arranged subject wise and kept in the library files for the use of readers.
 
 
Library Orientation:  This service is mainly concerned with providing guidance and instructions to the readers in the proper use of library collections and services individually or collectively. The main aim is to make all users aware of the information resources available in the library and enable users to enjoy the search of information.
 
 
Thought for the Day:
Thought for the day - Question of the Day are written by students on the Library black board every day.
 
Internet Service:
The Internet service  provided with few computers and connected with broad band to the readers. Users can access and download to N-LIST e-resources, browse the email and access to do MOOCs and SWAYAM Courses.
 
OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue):
 
Online Public Access Catalogue is a catalogue consisting of a collection of bibliographic records in machine readable form maintained on a Library Server. OPACs are searchable by author, title, subject headings and key words.  Besides the Bibliographical information, Document availability, location, status, etc… information is will also displayed in OPAC.
          
           Career & Competitive Exam Guidance:
Awareness programme on Career development, PG Entrance Examinations and Competitive Examinations are organised to the final year students by the library in association with career Guidance Cell every year.
 
           Library Blog:
A digital platform of Library. It displays latest information, notifications regarding Education, Career and Competitive examinations. And also soft copies of Previous Question Papers and Syllabus, etc. are made available 24*7 and 365 days.
 
Mobile Alert service (Whatsapp/Facebook/Twitter):
 
Users are informed about the College and Library activities/services, important notifications such as Exam fee, scholarship applying dates, Examination time tables, etc. to the students and staff through Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter.
 
Library Extension Services

a) New arrivals Display: Display of new books would enable library users to catch up on new trends. They can familiarize themselves with latest developments in their interested field. As and when the library purchases new titles need to be displayed in the “New arrival Stand” for the benefit of reader.
 
    b)  Notice Board/ Bulletin Board: For the benefit of the students, information brochures of institutions for further studies, employment opportunities, personality development skills, Newspaper clippings etc., are put on the Notice board.                                                                                                                 
     
   c) Book Exhibition:  Exhibition on specific topics would help readers to be aware of the kind of books already available to them. To popularize the library consciousness  among the various users of the library and to motivate the users to read the books, the library arrange the book exhibitions on on the days of national and international importance, such as Telugu Basha Day, Ranganathan‟s birthday (National Librarian’s Day), Telangana Basha Day,  National Library Week, National Science Day, etc.

     d) Book-Talks:  Library  organizes book-talks on regular basis for the benefits of  the users especially for the students to inculcate self-reading habits.
 
           Institutional Repository:
An institutional repository is a web based database of any institute’s scholarly resources. Institutional Repository includes pre-prints, thesis and dissertations, images, course materials, Journals articles accepted for publication, Seminar/conference/workshop papers, teaching aids/learning materials, student projects, free online journals, free e-books, photographs, audio/video recordings on concerned subjects, annual report/activities of the institution, course wise syllabus, semester wise previous exam question papers, reports of the academic/cultural programs of the institution, institutional data/information, etc. The main task of the Institutional Repository is to collect the scholarly materials to store and disseminate in digital format for wider use.
 
Digital Library Services (N-LIST and OERs):
 
Our Library is a member of National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content(N-LIST) since April 2018. Login ID and Passwords are provided to students and faculty to access to N-LIST e-resources. There are about 3000+ e-journals and 31,35,000 e-books can be accessed and download at free of cost from this NLIST website with their login credentials (http://nlist.inflibnet.ac.in/ )
 
Library Automation:

 

The college library automation is under process. However, presently the library is automated for module OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). The library database is created and updated with 13167 records in SOUL (Software for University Libraries) software, which was developed by UGC INFLIBNET. Bar-coding work also initiated and the work is in progress. Barcode machine and scanner available for automatic circulation
Best Library User Award: The College Library has instituted the “Best Library User Award” for students, to promote reading habit among students and research culture among the faculty.
 
Previous Question papers: The Library provides the soft copies as well as Printed form of question papers for the benefit of the user community.
 
Subject Bibliographies:  Provides the  subject bibliographies on the request of users.
 
Syllabus Copies:  Library preserves Syllabus copies of Current and Previous for consultation.
 
Suggestion Box: A suggestion box is kept at the entrance of the library seeking valuable suggestions and recommendations from the readers. The suggestions made by them are taken up and discussed in the library committee meeting and healthy suggestions are implemented.
 
Departmental Libraries:
All the Subjects departments have departmental libraries for immediate consultation by the faculty/students.
