Prof. P. Bala Bhaskar

Prof. P.Bala Bhaskar, has completed his Masters in Physics from Osmania University and later done his MPhil and PhD from the same University. He secured Gold Medal in MSc Physics in 1987.
Prof. P.Bala Bhaskar, alumni of Osmania University is now the member of Executive Committee of the university. After taking charge as the Principal of Govt.City College in Feb 2021, the college has got renewal of autonomy status till 2025-26.
Prof. P. Bala Bhaskar has over 26 years of teaching experience and 9 years of experience of administration. He taught Physics at UG and PG level at various Govt. Degree Colleges located in Mahaboobnagar, Gajwel, Medak and Warangal dists etc. He also worked in Govt. Polytechnic College on recruitment through APPSC prior to his career in Collegiate Education.
Prof. P.Bala Bhaskar produced teaching–learning modules in Physics during 2004-06, for live presentations through SAPNET Mana TV, a government initiated education channel by the then Govt. of Andhra Pradesh for UG programmes. He also produced five scripts in physics for telecast as recorded programmes all over the state repeated year after the year for the benefit of students joining UG programmes with Physics as one of the course.
Prof. P.Bala Bhaskar has contributed a significant research work on “Interfacing the computer with analog to digital converter (A/D converter) to record the voltage and current measurements of superconducting samples automatically without noting them manually” and this is a new approach and not attempted till then, which is a significant contribution, involving five years of active research as part of PhD programme (1989-94). Undertook research activity as invited research scholar for one year relating to life time measurements of luminescent centers in crystalline solids at Baba Atomic Research Centre, Trombay, Mumbai as part of PhD programme (1998-99) which is useful in estimating data storing capacity of X-ray imaging sensor material useful for effective operational aspects of medical applications. This is an innovative approach involving action research of practical nature.
Prof. P.Bala Bhaskar has extended his services in the role of Academic Guidance Officer at Commissionerate of Collegiate Education from March 2018 to Dec 2020. During this period, he was instrumental in various reforms in Higher Education taken by the Commissioner Sri. Navin Mittal IAS. There forms included Courses Reorganization to meet the true spirit of CBCS, Academic Quality Enhancement Activities, Jignasa-Student Study Projects, Dost-Online Admissions, Work load Calculations, Introduction of New Courses, Initiation of e-Office in Govt. Degree Colleges, College Administration and Information Management System etc.
Prof. P.Bala Bhaskar has contributed his service as Coordinator, National Service Scheme in Govt. Degree College Palem, Mahaboobnagar from 1993- 1998. During the 5 year tenure, he has organised regular Social Service Camps, Special Camps in villages and served the cause of welfare of public through activities such as adult literacy programme, health camps, surveys relating problems of the villagers in obtaining ration cards in villages, surveys conducted on dropouts of school children and also dropouts of adults in adult education centre for identifying the factors responsible for and suggested suitable remedial measures.
He is amemberof Alumni Associationin Physics, Osmania University.He is also a Member of Osmania Graduates Association, Hyderabad, Society for Promotion of Adult Continuing Education, SPACE, Hyderabad, Forumfor Higher Education AP, Hyderabad, Forum for promotion of Moral Values (Regd) Secunderabad. He also extends his support to the Social/Tribal/Minority welfare Institutions in the State in the role of Academic Advisor .
