Government Degree College, Chevella is actively engaged in all academic, curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Much importance is given to Career Oriented Trainings, Competitive Exam Coachings, Consumer Awareness Programmes, Women Empowerment activities and Entrepreneurial Development activities in the College. The College also organizes variety of activities to bridge the gap in communicative skills of rural students to match the job market. An English Language Learning Website was designed by the English Department to suit the academic and career requirements of students. Classroom Seminars are regularly conducted to build confidence among students. Health and Nutrition programmes are undertaken to make the students realize the need for having nutritious food, maintaining health and hygiene. Poshan Abhayan in the month of September is a step in this direction. Cancer Awareness programmes are regularly conducted to give awareness on various types of cancer and its available treatment. The College students also took initiative in distributing medicines, essentials  and masks during the pandemic.
