Govt.Degree College Chandur was established in the year 2008-09 .The college started with 3 courses with B. A. (EHP) B.Com (General) and B.Sc (MPC) (BZC) Combinations Telugu medium is offered in all the courses.

   This college is centrally located for the students  of  Chandur,Nampally &Marriguda  mandals. The college is imparting  education for the rural students. The girl students constitute 64% of the total students.
